Fair Housing Workshop and Second Public Hearing Notice
TOWN OF HAVANA, FLORIDA
The Town of Havana plans to apply to Florida Commerce for a FFY 2023-2024 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the Neighborhood Revitalization category for grant funding in the amount of $1,327,500. The activities, dollar amounts and estimated percentage benefit to low- and moderate-income persons are as follows:

The Town of Havana’s CDBG project proposes to several upgrades and repairs to aging water and drainage infrastructure in several different areas of the Town that will combat water transportation issues as well as high flooding on residential streets, including: upgrading the existing 2” watermain with a new 6” watermain down Gay St and Conyers St (1,800 LF) as well as installing new fire hydrants, installing new fire hydrant to serve as fire protection along Conyers St and 13th Ave, and drainage improvements along the west side of South Main St, from 12th to 6th Ave (2,250LF).
The Town of Havana does not expect that anyone will be displaced because of the CDBG-funded activities proposed above. If any persons are displaced because of the planned activities, the Town of Havana will assist them as described in the Town’s anti-displacement and relocation policy.
A public hearing to provide citizens an opportunity to comment on the application will be conducted in a handicapped accessible location at the Council Chambers at Town Hall, located at 711 N Main St, Havana, FL 32333 on April 22, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. A draft copy of the application will also be available for review during normal business hours at City Hall by noon on April 18, 2025.
A Fair Housing Workshop will be held on April 22, 2025 at 5:30 pm at the Council Chambers at Town Hall, located at 711 N Main St, Havana, FL 32333 to discuss local, state and federal fair housing laws.
Persons wanting to submit written comments on the application should send them to Kendrah Wilkerson, Town Manager, at [email protected] or by mail to 711 N Main St, Havana FL, no later than May 9, 2025. A copy of the final application will be available for review no later than May 13, 2025, at Town Hall. The application will be submitted to Florida Commerce on May 16, 2025.
